山东大学位于中华人民共和国山东省济南市。山东是孔子、孟子的家乡,儒家文明的发源地,在传承弘扬中国优秀传统文化方面有独特的区位优势和丰富的文化资源优势。山东大学是一所百年名校,在中华文化研究方面积淀深厚,著名学者高亨、陆侃如、冯阮君、萧涤非、杨向奎、童书业、黄云眉、王仲荦、庞朴等曾长期在这里工作,培养了许多优秀人才。《文史哲》杂志是海内外学术名刊。2015年,根据中华人民共和国教育部“2011计划”山东大学联合清华大学、北京师范大学、浙江大学、四川大学、华东师范大学、曲阜师范大学以及中国孔子基金会、国际儒学联合会、山东省人民政府等单位,正式组成由山东大学牵头的儒家文明协同创新中心,并召开了成立大会及第一次理事会,张荣校长当选理事长,清华大学陈来教授当选学术委员会主任。中心学术委员有:刘大钧、王学典、王云路、杨国荣、万俊人、陈卫平、杨朝明、郭齐勇、颜炳罡、安乐哲、池田知久等知名学者。中心致力于共同从事儒家文明的研究、传播和弘扬,为中国和世界文化的发展贡献力量。中心成立以来,积极开展协同创新研究工作,多次召开学术会议,2015年评选出第一批儒家文明协同创新中心后期资助成果,交中华书局和齐鲁书社出版,编辑出版学术刊物《儒家文明论坛》第一、二、三期,《儒林》第五、六期。著名学者池田知久、叶国良等曾在中心担任教授。
为了更好地促进儒家文化在世界范围内的创新研究与协同发展,同时为来自不同国家的儒学研究者提供更好的研究平台及资源,中心现面向全球招收访问学者。访问学者在中心工作的期限分为三个月,半年,一年。
一、申请条件:
1、申请者应当是中国大陆籍以外的学者;
2、专门从事儒学或中国传统学术研究,具有讲师以上职称或具有博士学位的专业人士均可申请;
3、访问学者需身体健康;
4、访问学者需具有良好的个人品质,在华期间遵守中华人民共和国宪法和法律法规。
二、在中心工作期间的待遇:
(一)薪酬标准:
1、杰出学者,访学期间由中心提供4万元/月(约相当于6000美元/月)的薪酬;
2、教授,访学期间由中心提供2.6万元/月(约相当于4000美元/月)的薪酬;
3、副教授,访学期间由中心提供2万元/月(约相当于3000美元/月)的薪酬;
4、讲师及博士,访学期间由中心提供1.6万元/月(约相当于2500美元/月)的薪酬。
(二)薪酬说明:
1、上述薪酬由访问学者自由支配,用于访学期间的生活及科研活动;
2、来访学者可以选择与儒家文明协同创新中心签订3个月、半年或一年的访学合同。其中半年的薪酬按5个月计算,来访学者可以在中国停留满6个月,但不另外付酬;一年的薪酬均按10个月计算,来访学者可以在中国停留满12个月,但不另外付酬。
3、中心为访问学者报销往返路费,路费报销只限直达济南者,不能迂回、不能在第三地逗留(转机、转车除外),报销次数为往返一次,访问学者在华期间回国、旅行皆不报销;
4、为访问学者研究、交流及出行的方便考虑,中心在山东大学中心校区访问学者公寓为来访学者提供住宿,来访学者也可以自行安排住宿,中心可为其提供部分租房费用,但原则上不得超过中心统一安排住宿支付的费用;
5、访学期间产生的医疗费用由学者在所属国家自行购买医疗保险,购买保险费用包含在薪酬中,中心不另外提供医疗费用。
三、在中心工作期间的成果要求:
1、每位来访学者在访学期间需按照中心规定在山东大学进行公开讲座,与儒家文明协同创新中心的师生交流相关领域的研究成果与经验。公开讲座的具体次数根据访学时间确定。工作期限为三个月的访问学者,需在访学期间进行1次公开演讲;工作期限为半年的访问学者,需在访学期间进行2次公开演讲;工作期限为一年的访问学者,需在访学期间进行4次公开演讲;
2、访学期间应当按中心规定以中心的名义在公开的学术刊物上发表一定数量的学术论文或报告,发表论文的具体数量根据访学时间确定。工作期限为三个月的访问学者,在访学期间应当发表1篇学术论文或报告,或出版1部学术著作;工作期限为半年的访问学者,在访学期间应当发表2篇学术论文或报告,或出版1部学术著作;工作期限为一年的访问学者,在访学期间应当发表4篇学术论文或报告,或出版1部学术著作。
四、申请程序:
1、申请以个人邮件的形式提出,邮件发送至中心指定邮箱,以《2016-2017年度赴儒家文明协同创新中心访学推荐人选信息汇总表》作为签报附件;
2、中心管理委员会组织专家进行遴选,确定候选人;
3、中心管理委员会将推荐人选报送山东大学国际交流处,由国际交流处统一通知申报结果及后续事宜。

Enrollment Notice for Overseas Visiting Scholars by
Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization
Shandong University is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China. As the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, Shandong province is the birthplace of Confucian culture which boast unique geographical advantages and rich cultural resources inherited in carrying forward excellent Chinese traditional culture. As an elite university with 115 years of history, Shandong University has accumulated a profound heritage of Chinese cultural research; which has cultivated many excellent talents and a number of famous scholars such as Gao Heng, Lu Kanru, Feng Ruanjun, Xiao Difei, Yang Xiangkui, Tong Shuye, Huang Yunmei, Wang Zhongrong and Pang Pu, who have worked with the University for a long period. Therefore, one of Shandong University's great accomplishment and achievement is the creation and establishment of its academic journal, that of the Journal of Chinese Humanities, which is highly popular at home and abroad.
In 2015, according to the “2011 Plan” issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization was officially set up and led by Shandong University with the combined efforts of other universities and organizations including Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, East China Normal University, Qufu Normal University, China Confucius Foundation, International Confucian Association and Shandong Provincial Government respectively.
The inaugural and first council meeting was held and Zhang Rong, president of Shandong University, was elected president of the council and likewise that of Chen Lai, professor of Tsinghua University, elected director of the academic committee, which was also formed by a number of well-known scholars including Liu Dajun, Wang Xuedian, Wang Yunlu, Yang Guorong, Wan Junren, Chen Weiping, Yang Zhaoming, GuoQiyong, Yan Binggang, Roger T. Ames and Tomohisa IKEDA. The center of Confucian Civilization is committed to research, to spread and carry forward the Confucian civilization, and in making contributions to the cultural development of China and the rest of the world.
In order to promote innovative research and synergetic development of Confucian culture in the world, provide a better research platform and resources for the Confucianism researchers from different countries, the center has now began to enroll visiting scholars worldwide. The working duration for visiting scholars in the Confucian Civilization center is classified into three (3) months, six (6) months and one (1) year respectively.
I. Application Requirements
1. This enrollment is aimed at overseas scholars who live in Hong kong, Macau and Taiwan or have the foreign nationality.
2. People who are specialists in the academic research of Confucianism or Chinese traditions with a technical post beyond lecturer or with a doctoral degree.
3. People in good health.
4. People with good personal quality and shall comply with the Constitution, laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China during the visit to China.
II. Remuneration
1. Standard:
(1) Distinguished Scholars: the center will provide RMB 40,000 per month (approximately $6,000 USD per month) during the studying visit;
(2) Professors: the center will provide RMB 26,000 per month (approximately$4,000 USD per month) during the studying visit;
(3) Associate Professors: the center will provide RMB 20,000 per month (approximately$3,000 USD per month) during the studying visit;
(4) Lecturers and Doctors: the center will provide RMB 16,000 per month (approximately$2,500 USD per month) during the studying visit.
2. Notes:
(1) The above-mentioned remuneration is the discretionary spending of the visiting scholars for living expenses and scientific research activities.
(2) The visiting scholars should sign the studying visit contract with the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization for the working duration of three (3) months, six (6) months or one (1) year respectively. The remuneration for six (6) months duration shall be calculated as 5 months; however, the visiting scholars can remain in China for six (6) months without extra remuneration for the additional one (1) month. The remuneration for one (1) year duration shall be calculated as ten (10) months; the visiting scholars can remain in China for twelve (12) months without extra remuneration for the additional two (2) months.
(3) The center provides travel expenses (only for economy class flight tickets) for the visiting scholars limited to direct travels to Jinan, without roundabouts or stops in the third place (except for changing flight or train). The travel expense reimbursement is only for one round-trip (start and end of the visiting program). Travel expenses to return home and travel visits during China will not be reimbursed by the Center (it is exclusively the visiting scholar’s responsibility).
(4) For the convenience of research, communication and transportation, the center provides apartments in the central campus of Shandong University which can be rented. The visiting scholars can also make their own arrangements for accommodation.
(5) Medical expenses of the visiting scholars during the studying visit shall be provided by the medical insurance purchased in the visiting scholar’s country. The expenses for purchasing medical insurance are included in the remuneration and the center will not provide any other medical expenses.
III. Requirements of Achievements during Work Period in the Center
1. Each visiting scholar shall address public lectures in Shandong University according to the regulations of the center to communicate relevant research results and experiences with the students and teachers of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization. The frequency of the public lectures shall be determined according to the work duration of the scholars. One (1) public lecture is required for visiting scholars of three (3) months duration; two (2) public lectures are required for visiting scholars of six (6) months duration and four (4) public lectures are required for visiting scholars of one (1) year duration.
2. During the studying visit, according to the regulations of the center, the scholars shall publish a certain number of academic papers or reports in the academic journals in the name of the center. The quantity of papers to be published shall be determined according to the working duration of the scholars. Visiting scholars of three (3) months duration are required to publish one (1) academic paper or report or academic work. Visiting scholars of six (6) months duration are required to publish two (2) academic papers or reports or one (1) academic work. Visiting scholars of one (1) year duration are required to publish four (4) academic papers or reports or one (1) academic work.
IV. Application Process
1. The application should be completed by interested individuals and submitted via e-mail to the assigned address with the attachment named “Summary Sheet of 2016-2017, Recommended Candidates Information for the Studying Visit to the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization”;
2. The Management Committee of the Center will organize experts to select and determine the most suitable candidates of visiting scholars;
3. The Management Committee of the Center will submit the name list of the candidates to the Department of International Affairs of Shandong University. The Department will inform the approved candidates of the application results and following affairs.
