三、摘要

We will start the talk with the basic notion of group and discuss the meaning of a group being finitely generated and finitely presented. We then discuss the natural high dimensional analog of these and give an overview on the finiteness properties of groups. In particular, we will highlight some major problems in the area. At the end, I will also discuss some of my own work related to finiteness properties of groups. Part of this is joint work with Javier Aramayona, Kai-Uwe Bux, Jonas Flechsig and Nansen Petrosyan.

四、主讲人介绍

伍晓磊，2014年毕业于SUNY Binghamton，先后在柏林自由大学，德国马克斯普朗克研究所，波恩大学，Bielefeld大学等地从事研究工作。研究领域包括几何群论，流形拓扑，代数K理论等。目前工作于复旦大学，担任青年研究员。
