This talk is concerned with the classification of Kaehler manifolds with positive bisectional curvature. It was asked by S.T. Yau whether any complete noncompact Kaehler manifold with positive bisectional curvature is bi-holomorphic to the complex Euclidean space. The conjecture for the case of maximal volume growth has been recently confirmed. In this talk, we will consider the conjecture for manifolds with non-maximal volume growth. We will show that the finiteness of the first Chern number is an essential condition to solve Yau’s conjecture by using algebraic embedding method. Furthermore, we can verify the finiteness in the case of minimal volume growth. This is a joint work with Bing-Long Chen.

朱熹平,中山大学“逸仙学者”讲座教授。曾任中山大学党委常委,副校长,中山大学数学学院院长。获得过国际华人数学家大会的晨兴数学银奖和陈省身奖。为国家自然科学基金创新研究群体项目学术带头人,获得过国家自然科学二等奖、教育部自然科学一等奖。
主要从事几何分析领域的研究,为国际重大数学课题Thurston几何化猜测的最终证明做出突出贡献。在Invent. Math., J. Diff. Geom., Math. Ann., Comm. Anal. Geom., Tran. Amer. Math. Soc.等国际顶尖期刊上发表论文70余篇。
