白茜文，清华大学博士生导师，助理教授，现担任清华大学工业工程系研工组组长。致力于交通大数据分析及航运运输管理等领域的研究工作。已在SCI/SSCI索引的国际重要期刊发表/被接收学术论文10篇。文章发表于交通运输、能源与经济领域国际权威期刊《Transportation Research Part E》,《Transport Policy》,《Energy Economics》,《Energy》等。多次获得国际会议最佳论文奖，如28th Annual Conference of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME)最佳论文奖和2020年长江研究与创新协同平台学术会议最佳论文奖。当前主持国家基金委青年科学基金项目1项。现任航运交通领域旗舰期刊《Maritime Policy & Management》副主编，《Transport Policy》客座编辑。担任世界交通运输大会水上运输-水运新技术-数字航运技术委员会委员。

六、摘要

The satellite-based ship-tracking system (AIS), combined with advanced technologies, reshapes the maritime industry through not only allowing researchers to examine industry from the micro level, but also providing a brand-new angle for industrial practitioners and governments to look at their daily operation and also long-term development strategy.

In this talk, I will first introduce a real-time port performance monitoring platform we build to track global port dynamics based on AIS. In this part, a two-layer density-based clustering method is developed to automatically identify the port's berth and anchorage areas. Based on this, we propose methods to estimate high-frequency port throughput, congestion level, and connectivity index for global ports.

Then, I will present one application of AIS data in the economics domain. Specifically, this research studies how the dynamic searching behaviors by oil tankers within and across markets and their interactions with exporters in the global oil transportation industry can trigger macroeconomic implications for oil trade, prices, and final good production. We develop a multi-market search and matching model in which ships and exporters optimise their behaviours in response to market-specic and idiosyncratic shocks.
