三、摘要

In the emerging relative Langlands program, the main concern is the study of periods of automorphic forms, namely some integrals over subgroups. A notable example is the formula of Waldspurger that relates the toric period on GL(2) or its inner form to some central critical L-value. Jacquet discovered the relative trace formula to reprove the Waldspurger’s formula. In this talk, we will study the relative trace formula and discuss some recent developments.
