In this work, we introduce a class of sequences, so-called dynamical sequences, which are defined by rational dynamical systems over algebraic varieties. Many classical sequences from number theory and algebraic combinatorics fall under this dynamical framework. For a dynamical sequence a(n), we show that the set of n for which a(n) is in a finitely generated group is a finite union of arithmetic progressions along with a set of zero Banach density. This result generalizes the classical Skolem-Mahler-Lech theorem for sequences satisfying linear recurrence relations. We apply this dynamical approach to prove a rationality theorem on D-finite power series.

四、主讲人简介

陈绍示，现为中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院副研究员，博士生导师。主要研究符号计算，计算微分代数与组合数学。2011年中国科学院与法国巴黎综合理工学校联合培养博士毕业，曾先后在奥地利Linz大学符号计算研究所、美国北卡罗来纳州立大学、加拿大菲尔兹数学研究所与滑铁卢符号计算研究组从事博士后工作。2013年回国到中科院数学与系统科学研究院系统所工作，2017年晋升为副研究员。先后主持国家自然科学青年基金与面上基金。在符号计算领域旗舰会议ISSAC发表论文14篇，以及Algebra and Number Theory, Journal of Symbolic Computation, Journal of Algebra, 和Journal of Combinatorial theory, Series A等期刊发表论文10余篇。目前担任组合领域国际期刊《Annals of Combinatorics》，国际符号与代数计算专业委员会《ACM Communications in Computer Algebra》，《Journal of Systems Science and Complexity》和《系统科学与数学》等杂志编委。2019年开始担任国际符号与代数计算年会ISSAC指导委员会常务委员。曾获得中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院“2014年突出科研成果奖”，“2018年度重要科研进展奖”与第二届“吴文俊计算机数学青年学者奖”。入选中国科学院第七届“陈景润未来之星”人才计划和中国科学院2018年度青年创新促进会会员。
