Prediction of Intrinsic Disorder Mediated Protein Functions

三、摘要

Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) lack stable 3D structure, but still perform key biological functions, including cell signaling and regulation. In this talk, I will introduce our recent work related to IDPs.

(1) We designed the first-its-kind method DisoRDPBind to predicted the RNA, DNA and protein binding regions mediated by intrinsic disorder.

(2) We proposed a novel method APOD to accurately identify the IDRs which serve as the flexible linkers in proteins.

(3) We introduced the intrinsic disorder information to improve the sequence-based prediction on the protein-peptide binding events.

We believe these studies are helpful for understanding the molecular functions of intrinsic disorder.

六、主讲人简介

彭珍玲，2014年博士毕业于加拿大阿尔伯塔大学，2015年初任天津大学副教授，2017年入选天津大学北洋学者–青年骨干教师计划。研究方向为计算生物及生物信息学，以第一或通讯作者身份在Nucleic Acids Research、Bioinformatics和Cell Death & Differentiation等SCI期刊上发表论文20篇；撰写学术专著2章；主持国家自然科学基金青年和面上项目各1项。
