五、报告人简介

Apostolos Serletis is Professor of Economics at the University of Calgary. He is also Director of the Energy Industry program at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), and President-elect of the Society for Economic Measurement. He is Associate Editor of four academic journals, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Energy Economics, Open Economies Review, and the Journal of Economic Asymmetries, and has also served as Guest Editor of the Journal of Econometrics, Econometric Reviews, and Macroeconomic Dynamics.

六、报告摘要

This lecture will examine the current mainstream approach to monetary policy and what we have learned and how we should change our thinking about monetary policy strategy in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. It will start with an examination of monetary policy in advanced economies and will discuss how the global financial crisis has changed monetary policy strategy. Finally, it looks at whether we can apply models that have been developed for advanced economies to emerging market and developing economies.
